The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development is looking for applications for Broadband Grant Program to offer financial resources that help to make the business case;

for brand new and existing providers to invest in constructing broadband infrastructure into unserved and underserved areas of the state.

The Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grant Program will pay as much as 50 % of the broadband growth prices for a qualifying project,

together with the acquisition and set up of middle-mile and last-mile infrastructure that help broadband services scalable to speeds of about 100 megabits per second download and in addition;

100 megabits per second upload.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Areas
- Broadband development projects positioned in unserved or underserved areas are eligible for the Border-to-Border Broadband Development Grants.
  An unserved area is an area of Minnesota by which households or companies lack access to wire-line broadband service at speeds that meet the FCC threshold of 25 megabits per second download and also 3 megabits per second upload.
  An underserved space is a space of Minnesota by which households or companies do receive service at or above the FCC threshold however lack access to wire-line broadband service at speeds of 100 megabits per second download and also 20 megabits per second upload.
Eligible Applicants
- Eligible candidates for this program are an included business or partnership, a political subdivision, an Indian tribe,
  a Minnesota nonprofit group organized under chapter 317A, a Minnesota cooperative association organized under chapter 308A or 308B,
  or a Minnesota limited legal responsibility company organized under chapter 322C for the aim of expanding broadband access.
