FG Suspends Secretary Of Secondary Education Commission Over Corrupt Act


The Federal Ministry of Education has suspended Prof. Benjamin Abakpa, the Executive Secretary of the National Senior Secondary Education Commission (NSSEC), over claims of embezzlement of funds and other dirty dealings.
It was revealed in a letter signed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Andrew David Adejo. Based on the assertion, Prof. Abakpa has been instructed to transfer all the affairs of the office to the Head director in the commission.
The spokesperson of the NSSEC, Fatima Bappare, who confirmed the suspension, mentioned he was charged by the board members of administrative incompetence, financial embezzlement, and lack of teamwork.
The Independent Corrupt Practices and other related Offences Commission (ICPC) has been asked to carry out a full investigation.
