Lagos State Prolong BECE Registration By Two Weeks


The Lagos State Ministry of Education has prolonged the time-limit for the registration of the 2023 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). This was issued in a statement issued by Orunsolu Adebayo, Director of Lagos State Examinations Board.
Lagos state board instructed Public Junior Secondary Schools, authorised Private Junior Secondary, and Special Schools that the time-limit that was initially fixed for April 14 has been postponed to April 28.
In accordance with the statement by the director, the postponement was important because of the hindrance faced by schools arising from the Central Bank of Nigeria’s cashless policy which made the registration processes inconvenient for most schools, and unstable Network Services
The director of Lagos state additionally said that the government did not intentionally deny any school and its candidates the opportunity to take part in the examination, thus, the reason for the postponement. All affected schools were advised to use the opportunity, as excuses will not be accepted after the expiration of the new date.
